Tracking Graduate Destinations

Graduate Outcomes is the UK’s biggest annual social survey and is delivered by HESA to track the destination of graduates 15 months after completing their studies.

The survey collects insightful and comprehensive information about what you are doing around 15 months after you completed your Higher Education course, tracking what you have done since leaving and exploring how your course affects what you do now. This study is being carried out by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). For more information on Graduate Outcomes visit HESA’s official webpage here.

IFF’s role in Graduate Outcomes

IFF Research has been appointed by HESA as the call centre provider for Graduate Outcomes. Graduates will initially be invited to take part in the online survey by HESA via email with IFF conducting telephone surveys with those who do not take part initially. IFF has extensive experience in destinations tracking having worked with almost 40 individual higher education providers in their delivery of Graduate Outcomes predecessor DLHE, as well as being the survey contractor for all six iterations of the Longitudinal Destinations from Higher Education survey.

FAQs

How did you get my details?

Your university/college is actively collaborating with HESA in the delivery of the Graduate Outcomes Survey. As part of the set up, your university/college has/will supply the contact details they hold for you to HESA for the sole purpose of conducting the Graduate Outcomes Survey. Your university/college will need to tell you separately about any other use of your contact information.

What does the survey entail?

You will be taking part in the biggest annual social survey in the UK. We are interested in finding out about the different career paths, circumstances and activities of graduates like yourself. It will take around 10 minutes to complete.

Your contribution will help current and future students gain an insight into career destinations and development. You’ll also be helping your university/college understand the choices you’ve made since graduation and how this reflects the skills your developed whilst in education. This will ensure they are promoting their courses accurately to prospective students.

What will happen to my data?

Your answers are sent to HESA and linked to data about when you were a student. This linked information will be shared with bodies that fund and regulate higher education, and other public bodies. This information will only be used for research into the outcomes of higher education. Your Higher Education institution will also get your survey answers. They won’t contact you about them unless you give your permission in the survey. You can withdraw this permission at any time.
