Sport Scotland communication research

Sport Scotland needed to evaluate its existing communications with stakeholders, in terms of both content and channel, to ensure key messages were getting through to their target audience.

How did IFF Research illuminate the facts?

Our research provided Sport Scotland with practical ideas on how to improve engagement with its stakeholders. This included creating channels enabling Sport Scotland and partners to share information with each other.  The research also highlighted where Sport Scotland’s existing communications were most effective.

All stakeholders – including representatives from local authorities and leisure trust groups, sports governing bodies, local authority Chief Executives and young ambassadors – were invited to take part in a survey either online or by telephone.

This was followed by focus groups and in-depth interviews with a sample group of stakeholders, enabling us to drill deeper into perceptions and to explore how Sport Scotland should develop its communications in future.
