The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills want to understand employers’ likely responses to the introduction of the Apprenticeship levy by mapping employers’ existing activity and exploring the potential for change.
How does IFF illuminate the facts with research?
IFF is working with the Institute for Employment Research at the University of Warwick, to assess whether the levy will lead to quantitative and/or qualitative additionality. We are conducting 50 employer case studies with employers of all sizes and sectors in scope for the levy, as well as some interviews with employers outside the scope of the levy to explore the potential for displacement.
Findings from this study will support the development of the levy policy and inform modelling of potential costs and impacts.
