Trainee Market Research Executive
JOB TITLE: Trainee Market Research Executive
CLOSING DATE: 01/07/08
LOCATION: Central London
SALARY: £19,000-£21,000
SHORT DESCRIPTION: We are looking to take on up to four Trainee Research Executives to work as part of a dynamic team committed to delivering high quality research to public, finance and business service sectors.
LONG DESCRIPTION:
Located in Hoxton, London, IFF Research is a leading independent market research agency specialising in conducting ad-hoc market research.
Every project we undertake is different and tailored to the exact needs of our clients. Our working environment is stimulating, fun and always evolving. IFF trainees soon learn a wide range of research methodologies whilst working as an integral part of a dynamic and supportive team. Our structured training programme has been developed to quickly enable all of our trainees to gain the skills and knowledge needed to make the most of the career opportunities at IFF and to develop an exciting career in market research.
We are an equal opportunities employer, who place great emphasis on maximising the potential of all who work with us. We currently have more than 40 full-time staff, of whom 9 are Research Directors with 20 Researchers. The commitment of each member of the research team to excellence and ongoing learning contributes to a lively and stimulating atmosphere.
We undertake a wide range of diverse projects for clients in the public, finance and business service sectors, from large-scale quantitative telephone surveys to small studies involving a handful of group discussions or in-depth interviews.
The successful candidates will have:
- A 1st-class degree, or a 2i at minimum; applications from candidates with a post-graduate qualification will be viewed particularly favourably. The subject in which the degree is obtained is not critical, although candidates whose studies have included using and/or exploring research methodologies will be viewed particularly favourably;
- Good numeracy skills – we do not need people to have a detailed understanding of statistics, but candidates should be comfortable working with numbers. In order to be successful, candidates will need to demonstrate an ability to quickly and accurately calculate sums and percentages, etc. and to recognise whether figures are in the right ball park or not. An A or B grade at GCSE (or equivalent) is a pre-requisite for the job;
- Highly developed English language skills, both written and oral. Asking questions and collating responses is at the heart of what we do. We therefore need people who can grasp the nuances of the English language. The job also involves writing reports in clear, accurate English for audiences with varying levels of sophistication;
- A minimum of 340 UCAS points; we will be prepared to waive this criterion in exceptional circumstances
In addition we are looking for graduates who are:
- Flexible
- Inquisitive
- Self-learning
- Highly communicative
- Business focussed
- Problem-solving
